Dear Friends,

Has there ever been a new year more welcomed that the year 2010? Needless to say 2009 was a year we are sure we will all remember, well for a while any way I am sure. The Blacktail however, did survive and we are looking forward to a new year, and a new decade with new friends adding to our list of rewarding experiences.

Ranch News: 2009 brought many old and new friends to our door. It is always great to have past guest and teachers returned to the ranch. The Blacktail Ranch family does continue to grow with each season. We are greatfull for a good life full of wonderful people.

Thanks to our good friend Scott Smotherman the addition onto the Hide Out Cabin is completed. The new full size bathroom and the state of the art electrical system has sure made our little cabin in the mountains a dream come true. Thanks Scott.

As many of you know the wheels often turn slowly for us at the Blacktail. With that in mind, the progress of Ians cabin continues and we are sure he and brother Thane will be full time residents in the new dwelling the first part of the summer.

2009 also broght the Blacktail staff a couple welcomed additions. Jenifer Hollad, better know as JJ, was hired in to work in housekeeping, but was soon put to work helping in the kitchen as well. Tesa Satler did a wonderful job in housekeeping, always with a smile and a positive attitude. Bruce Miller, sometimes know as Buford, did his part to keep everyone entertained  working on the ranch  in a variety of areas -- trail crew, cook, carpenter, guitarist and hunting guide. As you can see from the above schedule there are numerous dates available for the up coming season. However, our schedule is ever changing. There is plenty of space for that long planed Fishing Trip, Floating the Blacktfoot River, the long over due Family Reunion, and of course signing up for a Divide Ride. New bookings take place every week. Please contact us for the latest updates and information on all our activities for the 2010 season.

To all our new and past guest we wish prosperity and good fortune in 2010. Remember our latchstring is always out. Feel free to give us a call or drop by if you are in the neighborhood.

Warm Wishes,
Sandra, Tag and all the Great Blacktail Staff

Vision Quest - For millennia, men and women have quested to seek vision and to mark transitions. The Quest is a contemplative way of being in nature, and it allows one to experience their inner being in relation to the greater forces of nature. There are times when we must go into the wilderness, and the Quest calls us in this way.

Weaving Together the Ordinary  and Non-ordinary is a training in the elements of earth, water, fire and air and the practices that move us into the phenomenal world of the shaman. Our work is in bringing together ordinary and non-ordinary realities. We will work together in the deepest sense of community and in support of the Vision Quest.
